All fabrics and trims in this room are by Brunschwig & Fils.
The settee is also B & F.

MASTER BEDROOM at TRANQUILLITY LODGE, Hingham, MA

Kate painted the bedside tables to complement the Brunschwig & Fils bedding fabrics. Painting "The Lovers" by Jack Dickerson.

A close-up of the pillows, with a hand painted boudoir pillow.

The trompe l'oeil document wallpaper is also from B & F. (The original of this wallpaper is in the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris.) The shades on these antique Italian lamps have woven gold mesh lace trim.

to the Loire Valley.

Hand painted cornice with antique gold accents.

MASTER BEDROOM, Norwell, MA

This bedroom is done in all Scalamandre fabrics and trims. The palette of cobalt blue, peach and coral was offset by soft white walls, painted with a faux striped finish for subtle drama. The cream colored carpet completes the serene feel of this room.

The antique bed (purportedly slept in by King Edward VI when he visited Mint House in Sussex in 1548!) is covered in a luxurious snow white alpaca fur spread. A puffy duvet is a colorful addition. "Geisha" painting by Jack Dickerson. Custom painted fire board by Kate.

The decoupage pictures hung on either side of the mantle were hand made for this room, and framed with French dyed ribbon as the "matting".

An antique gallery table received a face lift with
a custom woven ribbon top, under glass.

Hand painted silk pillows with Scalamandre silk fringe.

This antique Provencal chaise longue is covered in a gorgeous silk lampas, with all silk trimmings and pillow.

A loveseat at the foot of the bed, upholstered in cotton cut velvet.
Tufting is punctuated by coral silk fringe buttons
which really pop against the blue.

I love a breakfast table in the bedroom. This one overlooks the owners' private 9-hole golf course.

Fabulous Scalamandre hand tied pom-pom trim on this silk shade. Mouth blown blue glasses from Biot, France.

Louvered closet doors have been disguised with Swiss embroidered cotton. Kate made all of the faux antique silhouettes based on original antiques.

Silk shades with ruching on a pair of old Chinese porcelain figurine lamps (a man and a woman).

Drapery detail: three fabrics were used. The blue and white trompe l'oeil "tufted" fabric was used for the entire backside.

GUEST ROOM, Newport, RI

Historic document hand-print linen from Lee Jofa, along with other fabrics.

Gorgeous custom lampshades can make a room...
...as can a custom memo board.
