Custom lamp, made from a South African vase, has a shade covered in a sheer linen version of the slipcovered headboard fabric.

Cozy window seat alcove has silks, chenilles, and a luxurious

baby mohair throw.

ANNIE'S ROOM, Duxbury, MA

In this, my niece's room, my sister did most of the decorating.

I supplied the lamps with custom ribbon shades, striped boudoir pillows

and periwinkle raw silk throw.

I love the way the periwinkle painted iron lamps echo the

outlines of the antique spindle beds, which had

belonged to our grandparents.

Fabric covered waste basket

Cast iron lamp and crib, with horses, were hand painted to match.

The silk shade is also painted, with matching dots.

The rocking horse was custom built by Jack and painted by Kate.

The toy box was custom made by Kate's friends at All Cracked Up.

MADELEINE'S SUITE at TRANQUILLITY LODGE, Hingham, MA

For my daughter's "big girl" room, when she was two years old, I used matching Lee Jofa historic chintz and hand blocked wallpaper.

The cornices were custom made.

The adjoining sitting room was decorated when Madeleine became a teenager. Here the walls are strie glazed a soft lime green,

with the ceiling painted like the sky.

I painted a frieze around this room, to go with the Brunschwig & Fils fabric.
